A WIRE AND CABLE BUYER, NOT A GENERAL SURPLUS DEALER
We buy one category of material and we buy it across one region. That narrowness is the whole point: it lets us price a reel accurately and answer quickly.
Most surplus buyers take anything with metal in it. That approach works for scrap, and badly for wire. A reel of 500 MCM XHHW-2 with verified footage is not the same commodity as a pallet of cut tails, even though both contain copper, and treating them the same way shortchanges the seller.
We buy electrical wire and cable only, from businesses in Washington, DC and Maryland. Building wire, armored and industrial cable, service and underground cable, bare copper and grounding conductor, aluminum, specialty and flexible cable, low-voltage and communication cable, and medium and high-voltage cable from 5kV to 69kV and above.
How we work
Every submission is reviewed on its own details: construction, size, voltage, conductor count, footage, condition, packaging and access. We quote on what we can place, not on a scrap index, and we say plainly when a reel is not something we want.
- Wire and cable only — no switchgear, transformers, breakers, generators or plant equipment
- Written terms agreed before anything is collected
- Photos and inventory lists reviewed without charge
- Mixed lots assessed item by item, not priced as one lump
- No invented local offices, staff counts, reviews or transaction claims
What we are not
We are not a scrap yard, and we do not pretend that every reel has a home. We are not a distributor, so we cannot sell you replacement cable. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer, and we do not use brand names to imply an endorsement we do not have.
We also do not claim a staffed office, warehouse, yard or local telephone number in every city and county named on this site. We buy surplus wire from businesses in those places; we do not operate a branch in each one. If you need a local address before you will sell, we are not the right buyer, and we would rather tell you that now.
Why a regional focus matters
Wire is heavy, awkward and expensive to move. A buyer working the same region can collect a partial load economically, inspect material in person when it matters, and be honest about travel distances. That is why this site covers Washington, DC and Maryland rather than the whole country.
The standards we hold ourselves to
Describe the material accurately, quote on evidence, agree terms in writing, and turn up with the right equipment. If a lot is not a fit, say so quickly. Those four habits are most of what a seller actually needs from a buyer.
Frequently asked questions
How long has the company been buying wire?
We do not publish a founding date or company history claims on this site, because those numbers are easy to inflate and hard to verify. What we can tell you is how the process works, what we buy, and what we will do with your submission.
Are you affiliated with any wire manufacturer?
No. We are an independent buyer and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any cable manufacturer or distributor.
Do you have reviews or testimonials?
We do not publish testimonials, star ratings or transaction claims. Ask us for references in a specific category and we will tell you honestly what we can provide.
Send the details.
We’ll review the reel.
Tell us what you have and where it sits. Photos of the reel, the jacket legend and the tag do more than a paragraph of description.
